Delhi witnessed heavy rainfall on Sunday morning, leading to waterlogging and traffic congestion in several parts of the city. Despite the receding water level of the Yamuna River, areas like ITO and Rajghat remain submerged. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more rainfall in the coming days, exacerbating the situation.

Due to waterlogging, areas such as Salimgarh underpass, Yamuna Bazar, Mukherjee Nagar, Jaitpur, Mayur Vihar, and Hakikat Nagar are also affected. The Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory, stating that traffic movement is hampered due to waterlogging and uprooting of trees. Commuters are advised to avoid certain routes, including Khan Market, Teen Murti roundabout, GGR-PDR, A-Point to W-Point, Kamla Express Building, Andrews Ganj, Khanpur T-point, and Bhairon Marg under Railway Bridge.

The heavy rainfall also caused the uprooting of trees on Tuglak Road, further complicating vehicular movement. The Delhi traffic police warned commuters to plan their journey accordingly and avoid these stretches for their convenience.

People in the affected areas were seen struggling with waterlogging, with some pushing their motorcycles through the water. However, some important routes such as Vikas Marg, ISBT, Metcalfe Café Road, Sarai Kale Khan, and parts of the Ring Road and Boulevard Road have been reopened, despite having some water on these stretches.

The Indian Meteorological Department has forecasted more rain for today as the monsoon trough moves closer to Delhi. While the capital witnessed light to moderate rain on Saturday, heavy rain is expected in the foothills. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 34 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The situation calls for caution and preparedness from residents as waterlogged roads and heavy rainfall pose a significant challenge. As the city grapples with these conditions, it is crucial for commuters to stay updated with the latest information and plan their journeys accordingly. The authorities continue to work on mitigating the impact of the floods, and it is hoped that the situation improves soon.

In conclusion, Delhi is currently facing the aftermath of heavy rainfall, with several areas still submerged and waterlogged. The IMD has predicted more rainfall in the coming days, further exacerbating the situation. Commuters are advised to exercise caution and avoid waterlogged routes. The authorities are working to address the challenges posed by the floods, and residents are urged to stay informed and take necessary precautions.
