A Delhi court has granted sanction for the prosecution of Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in the 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots Case and transferred it to a special MP-MLA court. The court set June 8th as the next hearing date. The CBI presented a supplementary chargesheet in court which led to the transfer. Tytler appeared before the CBI in April and submitted his voice samples as part of the investigation. The samples were sent to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory for examination. These events are significant as the 1984 anti-Sikh riots resulted in the deaths of thousands of Sikhs, and the prosecution of those responsible has been ongoing for decades.
