Deadly Shooting in Ybor City Leaves 2 Dead, 16 Injured: Suspect Arrested

Thanks to tips from the community, law enforcement swiftly apprehended the suspect, 22-year-old Tyrell Steven Phillips, who now faces charges of second-degree murder with a firearm.

The victims of the shooting include a 14-year-old black male and a 20-year-old white man who tragically lost their lives. Of the 16 injured, 15 suffered from gunshot wounds. Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw confirmed that most of the victims, aged between 18 and 27, have been released from the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The five remaining victims also have non-life threatening injuries.
