Police in Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh have recovered the murder weapon and various documents belonging to the victim from the home of the accused in the Ritesh Damore murder case. Damore was murdered outside his home in Ward 2 of Awas Colony late on Sunday night, and the police managed to track down and arrest Raju Titiya Meda, along with two accomplices, soon afterwards. During investigations, the police discovered that there had been an argument between Meda and Akash, the victim’s brother-in-law, during a family function in Kallipura village. Although the situation had calmed, Meda later attacked Damore while he was walking home with Akash and his sister.
Although there had been attempts by both families to end an extra-marital relationship between Sumitra, one of the suspects in the case, and the victim, the affair continued. Sumitra contested councillor elections from Ward No. 11 but lost by a significant margin. She is also vocal on tribal issues and frequently appeared in political events. The weapon and slab used in the crime have been sent for tests to the forensic lab.
