Portnoy debated with former cricket star David Bumble Lloyd about the merits of the sport, but quickly made it clear that he had no knowledge or care for the game. Lloyd commented that it was no surprise an American like Portnoy wouldn’t understand cricket. However, Portnoy dismissed the sport, stating that he didn’t care about it at all and couldn’t understand why they were discussing it.
The argument continued with Morgan, likening cricket’s relationship to baseball’s. Morgan stated that England had a more superior, sophisticated, and intelligent sport than America did. After Lloyd explained how one cricket game went on for a week without a score, Portnoy lost his patience and shouted, That sounds like a torture camp to me.
Meanwhile, the Major Cricket League is launching in the United States, and Portnoy was urged to start appreciating the sport. The six-team league is set to begin on 13th July at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas, but Portnoy seemed uninterested and unaware of the event.
