A Christmas party took a dangerous turn when a man assaulted his former boss, leaving him unconscious and with a brain bleed. Nathan Jackson, a 26-year-old father of two, had a chance encounter with his ex-boss outside a pub in Newton-le-Willows. The victim, who owns a plant hire firm, suffered a scar on his chin and the back of his head after being punched in the face by Jackson. The incident occurred on December 17 last year, during a night out for the victim’s private works party. Jackson’s aggressive behavior escalated, leading to the violent encounter, leaving the victim with a life-altering injury. In court, the defendant expressed remorse and was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment suspended for 18 months. Jackson was also ordered to complete 240 hours of unpaid work, attend 10 rehabilitation activity requirement days, and pay £500 in compensation. The victim continues to cope with the aftermath of the assault, including a subdural haemorrhage, and a long road to recovery.
