By the records provided by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Pendraroad recorded the lowest temperature of 16.8 degrees Celsius, while Dantewada witnessed the highest temperature at 26.3 degrees Celsius.
The light rain is the result of cyclone Michaung, which made landfall in coastal south Andhra Pradesh. This cyclonic effect has brought down the temperature in Raipur and other parts of Chhattisgarh, stated the Meteorological Department.
The rainfall is expected to bring relief to the residents of Chhattisgarh as the region was experiencing a dry and warm spell. The light showers have provided respite from the scorching heat and brought a refreshing change to the atmosphere.
Local residents expressed their joy at the arrival of the rain. The rainfall has come as a pleasant surprise. We have been experiencing dry weather for the past few weeks, and this light drizzle has brought much-needed relief, said Rajesh Tiwari, a resident of Raipur.
The rainfall is also expected to benefit the agricultural sector by providing moisture to the soil. Farmers in the region have been eagerly waiting for rain to irrigate their crops.
We were concerned about the dry spell, as it was affecting our crops. This rainfall will help in replenishing the soil moisture, which is essential for the growth of our crops, said Ramesh Singh, a farmer from Durg.
The Met department predicts that the rain showers will continue for the next couple of days, and people in Chhattisgarh can expect more relief from the heat during this period.
It is essential for residents to remain cautious during rainfall and ensure their safety. The authorities have advised people to take necessary precautions and avoid venturing out during heavy showers to prevent any untoward accidents.
The light rain brought by cyclone Michaung has brought a welcome change to the weather in Chhattisgarh, with its cooling effect and potential benefits for the agricultural sector. As the rain continues, it is hoped that the region will receive ample precipitation to support both the residents and the farmers in their respective endeavors.
