Trinidad and Tobago and St. Vincent are set to host the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Rising Stars U-19 Championships, showcasing the region’s best young cricketers. This tournament will feature both the men’s and women’s divisions, providing a platform for talent development and potential participation in international events such as the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2025.

The women’s event, consisting of 30-over matches, will be held from July 4th to the 12th at the National Cricket Centre, UWI Sports and Physical Education Centre, and Gilbert Park Cricket Ground in Trinidad. With the goal of identifying promising players, this championship aims to prepare them for future competitions, including the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

On the other hand, the men’s championship will take place in St. Vincent from July 4th to August 1st. This event will feature a series of white ball matches, along with three-day red ball matches. The matches will be held at Arnos Vales, Sion Hill, Park Hill, and Cumberland. Following this tournament, the West Indies Rising Stars U-19 team will be selected for a tour of Sri Lanka, where they will engage in a four-day match and 50-over matches. This tour will serve as crucial preparation for the ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup, scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka early next year.

The CWI Rising Stars U-19 Championships, now in its second year, aim to provide young cricketers with opportunities to showcase their skills and enhance their abilities through competitive matches. By participating in these tournaments, the players will gain valuable experience and exposure to higher levels of cricket.

Given the significance of these championships in identifying and nurturing talent, there is great anticipation surrounding the outcomes of both the men’s and women’s divisions. The competitions will serve as a crucial stepping stone for aspiring cricketers, providing them with a chance to represent their country on an international stage.

The CWI Rising Stars U-19 Championships not only contribute to the development of these young cricketers but also promote the growth of cricket within the region. As the matches unfold, cricket enthusiasts and fans alike will witness the emergence of future stars, eager to make their mark on the sport.

With its focus on developing talent, preparing for international competitions, and promoting the sport regionally, the CWI Rising Stars U-19 Championships are a testament to Cricket West Indies’ commitment to the growth and success of the game.
