CSU Discloses President Tinubu’s Academic Records in Response to Atiku’s Appeal

Chicago State University (CSU) has complied with a United States District Court order to release President Bola Tinubu’s academic records in response to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s appeal. The documents were handed over to Atiku on Monday, following President Tinubu’s unsuccessful objection.

A US district judge, ruling on the matter, dismissed President Tinubu’s objections and ordered the release of the academic records. The judge stated that Atiku’s application was granted and set an expedited schedule for the completion of the discovery process, considering the pending Supreme Court of Nigeria deadline.

In the documents obtained from CSU, Atiku’s four requests were addressed. However, regarding his request for a copy of the diploma issued to President Tinubu in 1979, CSU stated that it does not keep copies of student diplomas and was unable to locate the original diploma it had prepared for Mr. Tinubu.

Atiku intends to utilize the CSU academic record in his appeal at the Supreme Court where he is challenging President Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 presidential election. Meanwhile, President Tinubu’s legal team has argued that the documents would be irrelevant at the Supreme Court.

The release of President Tinubu’s academic records has sparked interest and debate among the public. Supporters of Atiku see this as a potential breakthrough that could sway the Supreme Court’s decision in his favor. On the other hand, President Tinubu’s supporters argue that the academic records hold no relevance to the election results and should not be considered by the court.

As the case unfolds, both parties continue to present their arguments before the Supreme Court. The academic records released by CSU add a new dimension to the legal battle, leaving the court to determine their significance in relation to the election dispute.

The Supreme Court of Nigeria will ultimately decide on the matter, and Atiku’s appeal will be carefully evaluated along with any additional evidence presented. The release of President Tinubu’s academic records marks a significant development in this highly contested election dispute and will undoubtedly impact the final decision reached by the Supreme Court.
