A murder investigation has been launched in Argentina after the gruesome discovery of the remains of a missing cryptocurrency influencer. Fernando Pérez Algaba, aged 41, went missing on July 19, failing to return his apartment keys to the building’s owner. Authorities were notified, and an extensive search began.

Tragically, a group of children stumbled upon a red suitcase on July 23 while playing near a stream in Ingeniero Budge, Buenos Aires Province. Reports suggest that the suitcase contained some of Algaba’s body parts. The police were able to identify him through his identifiable tattoos and fingerprints.

Further investigation led the police to find Algaba’s head and torso near the same site on Wednesday. The New York Post has reported that one suspect has been taken into custody in connection with Algaba’s death. The clean amputations on the body parts have led authorities to suspect that it may have been a professional hit.

According to Telam Digital, over 200 messages are currently under analysis in connection with the murder. It has emerged that Algaba was allegedly in significant debt, owing approximately $70,000 to Gustavo Iglesias. One of the voice messages being examined is said to be from Iglesias’ son, Nazareno, who threatened Algaba, promising to inflict severe harm on him. The judicial representative stated that the Iglesias family confirmed that Algaba owed them money.

Before his untimely demise, Algaba made two troubling social media posts that have caught attention. In one audio clip, he addressed his mother, stating that he needed to clear his head. He then expressed a realization that problems often follow us. In another post, the influencer lamented the existence of malicious individuals in the world, acknowledging the dichotomy of wanting to help them while they plot to destroy you.

This tragic incident is not the first instance of a sudden and mysterious death involving a cryptocurrency figure. Vyacheslav Taran, the head of the Libertex Group crypto exchange, died in a helicopter crash last November. Additionally, Tiantian Kullander, co-founder of the Hong Kong-based digital asset company, the Amber Group, passed away in his sleep just two days before Taran’s death. Another cryptocurrency dealer, Nikolai Mushegian, also met a tragic end when he drowned in Puerto Rico. Mushegian had claimed that the CIA and Mossad were targeting him.

The investigation into the murder of Fernando Pérez Algaba is ongoing, as authorities work diligently to bring justice for the influencer’s brutal death.
