The Communist Party of India (CPI) is calling for the ousting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from power in the next Lok Sabha elections, citing the trampling of democratic values under the current regime. CPI General Secretary D Raja stated that the BJP has no respect for democratic values and the provisions laid out in the constitution. He claimed that public sector undertakings are being privatised, with select corporate houses being given undue favour by the government, resulting in job losses.

Raja accused the government of pumping public money into Adani group of companies through banks and LIC, violating all norms and causing huge losses to the common man. The opposition had demanded a thorough inquiry by the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) into irregularities committed in Adani, but the government refused to accept the demand.

In response, 15 opposition parties across the country came together to find ways to fight unitedly against BJP and save democracy and the country. A consensus was reached to contest unitedly against the BJP in the next Lok Sabha elections. The next meeting to fine-tune the strategy would be held in Shimla in the first fortnight of July.

The CPI intends to hold a massive rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna in November to send a powerful message to oust the BJP government from power, said CPI State Secretary Ram Naresh Pandey. The opposition party is concerned about the prevailing scenario of the country and is striving to save democracy, the Constitution, and the country’s overall well-being.

The move may lead to a shift in political discourse, as different political parties may align themselves with the CPI against the BJP. However, it remains to be seen if the opposition can pose a real challenge to the ruling party in the coming elections. The CPI’s growing alliance with the opposition parties presents the BJP with a significant challenge and highlights the need to address the concerns of the common people to stay in power.
