Title: Contrasting Treatment of Capitol Rioters and Ordinary Citizens Reveals Government’s Priorities

In recent months, there has been a stark contrast in how the US government treats individuals involved in the Capitol riots compared to real crimes committed against ordinary citizens. The Biden administration, along with the corporate media, has portrayed the January 6 riot as a military coup, demanding severe punishments even for minor offenses such as vandalism and trespassing. Meanwhile, actual crimes committed against private individuals seem to receive much less attention and often go unresolved.

For instance, Enrique Tarrio, who wasn’t even present in Washington on January 6, was convicted of seditious conspiracy and is facing a request for a 30-year sentence from the Justice Department. Jacob Chansley, commonly known as the QAnon Shaman, received a three-and-a-half-year sentence despite not engaging in any violent acts. Similarly, Riley Williams was given three years for simply trespassing in Nancy Pelosi’s office. In contrast, when private businesses are ransacked and merchandise worth tens of thousands of dollars is stolen during urban riots, law enforcement often considers these incidents low priority.

Violent and property crimes have been surging in many parts of the country, with 2022 seeing a 30 percent rise in violent crime in New York City alone. Unsolved murders have reached record highs, and police departments allocate only minimal resources to homicide investigations. If your property is stolen, the chances of recovering it are slim. It is evident that the government’s priorities lay in protecting itself, its agents, and its property from any threat.

During urban riots like those in Ferguson and Minneapolis, law enforcement went to great lengths to protect themselves and government property. However, ordinary citizens and private shopkeepers were often left to fend for themselves. We saw a tragic example of this during the Uvalde School shooting in 2022, where law enforcement officers prioritized their own safety over protecting the children being attacked. When parents demanded action, they were met with police aggression.

The federal level also demonstrates this disparity. Special federal laws exist to protect federal employees from violence, while ordinary taxpayers do not receive the same consideration. It is concerning how federal agencies arm themselves heavily while attempting to disarm private citizens. Federal agents spare no expense when it comes to apprehending individuals who committed crimes like putting their feet up on Nancy Pelosi’s desk, while serious violent crimes against regular people often go overlooked. The federal agencies’ lack of action during significant incidents such as 9/11, known rapist Larry Nasser, or the Parkland school shooting further highlights this discrepancy.

Unfortunately, law enforcement officers rarely face consequences for their negligence towards private property and the safety of citizens. Federal courts have made it clear that law enforcement officers are not obligated to protect the public, creating a one-sided social contract where taxpayers fulfill their duties while the state can neglect its end.

This discrepancy in treatment demonstrates the state’s primary focus on protecting itself rather than its citizens. The most serious crimes in the eyes of the state are often those that jeopardize its own stability or involve economic offenses against the government. This double standard has become increasingly evident in recent years, as the regime prioritizes protecting itself from perceived threats to democracy over addressing real crimes committed against private citizens.

In conclusion, the contrasting treatment of Capitol rioters and ordinary citizens sheds light on the government’s priorities. While the state obsesses over securing its own safety, providing draconian sentences to minor offenders, and protecting government property, the safety and well-being of private individuals seem to be of minimal concern. This disparity raises questions about the government’s true motives and its commitment to upholding justice for all its citizens.
