The Meteorological Department (MeT) in Jammu and Kashmir has warned that hot and dry weather conditions will continue this week in the region. Maximum temperatures in many parts of Kashmir are expected to range from 30-32°C, while the plains of Jammu could see highs of 38-40°C. The hot and dry weather is expected to persist until June 23, although a brief spell of showers or thunderstorms in one or two places cannot be ruled out between June 20-23. MeT added that the weather will remain mostly dry but may become generally cloudy with intermittent light to moderate thundershowers at scattered to fairly widespread places from June 24-28. The famous tourist resorts of Pahalgam and Gulmarg recorded lows of 9.1°C and 10.2°C, respectively.
