The Congress party has called upon the people of Goa to join them in their Yatra on June 18, Goa Revolution Day. The rally will start from Donapaula and will finish at Azad Maidan-Panaji. The Congress has urged individuals to raise their voice on issues such as inflation, unemployment, and other related issues to highlight the shortcomings of the BJP government. During the press conference, Youth Congress secretary in-charge for Goa, Richi Bhargawa noted that the BJP government had failed to maintain control over inflation, had failed to implement poll promises such as providing three free LPG cylinders, and had not adopted a strategy to create jobs. Further issues of concern include the ignoring of the scams in the smart city projects and a lack of response in facing probes over corruption and scams; also, a deliberate attempt to avoid questions is noted. The Congress has asked youths, women, and all people of Goa to join this movement and discuss concerns. It is noted that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra gained good response and this yatra in Goa seeks the same engagement.
