He also emphasized that their actions demonstrated their inability to handle the truth of their allegations. The walkout occurred while PM Modi was responding strongly to the opposition’s claims.
The Congress party had moved a no-confidence motion against the NDA government, specifically concerning the issue of Manipur, and had been demanding an explanation from PM Modi inside the Parliament. However, the opposition seemed to lack the courage and intention to engage in a discussion on Manipur. In response, the Prime Minister highlighted the history of the Congress party’s actions in the northeast and in violence-stricken states, mentioning how former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had responded during an attack on Assam.
PM Modi assured the people of Manipur that both the state and central governments were working towards restoring peace in the region. He also promised the strictest punishment for those involved in crimes against women, emphasizing that such offenses were unforgivable. The Prime Minister expressed solidarity with the people of Manipur, particularly the women and daughters, assuring them that the country stood with them.
