During the meeting, Congress leaders pledged to support the party’s candidate in the election, ignoring all of their past differences. The party is holding several meetings, conferences, and workshops across tribal regions in Madhya Pradesh to connect with their voter base.
In the 2018 Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party won 16 of the 47 seats, while the Congress party won the remainder. The Congress party aims to uproot the BJP from power in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Several prominent leaders attended the meeting, including the Leader of Opposition Dr. Govind Singh, former LoP Ajay Singh, MLA Omkar Singh Markam, Youth Congress president Dr. Vikarnt Bhuria, and tribal leaders of Shahdol Assembly constituency.
The leaders appealed to tribal voters to support the Congress party in the Assembly elections. Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath will hold a meeting of tribal leaders in Mandla on June 24, where tribal leaders from adjoining districts will also participate.
