Congress leader and Maharashtra Legislative Party leader Balasaheb Thorat has criticized the ruling Shinde-Fadnavis government in the state, accusing them of being dishonest in their claims. Speaking at a felicitation function held for Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Sangli, Thorat revealed that the Congress party would teach the government a lesson in the upcoming state assembly elections.
Thorat mentioned that the big victory of the Congress in Karnataka was due to senior party leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. He requested the Karnataka Chief Minister to address the water issue in the Jat area and ensure justice for people living in disputed border areas.
Congress state president Nana Patole, former state Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, Congress Party Group Leader in the Legislative Council, former minister Satej Patil, Karnataka Minister M B Patil, former minister Madhukarrao Chavan, working president Baswaraj Patil, Praniti Shinde, and former minister Dr. Vishwajit Kadam were among those who attended the meeting in Sangli.
The Congress leader’s statement comes ahead of the state assembly elections, where the party hopes to gain the upper hand. The Maharashtra government has been accused of failing to address various issues plaguing the state, including the increasing unemployment rate and farming crisis.
The Congress party has been making efforts to improve its image in the state by organizing various rallies and meetings. Meanwhile, the ruling party has been facing criticism for their alleged failure to deliver on their promises.
It remains to be seen what impact Thorat’s statement will have on the election results. However, it is clear that the Congress party plans to fight tooth and nail to secure a victory in the upcoming assembly elections.
