Congress and Trinamool Urge PM Modi to Explain Alleged Protection of WFI Chief Amid Wrestler Misconduct Claims

The Congress and Trinamool Congress have criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allegedly protecting Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who has been accused of sexually harassing female wrestlers. The Congress spokesperson shared details of the FIR that disclosed Singh’s repeated sexual harassment, and the wrestlers had informed the Prime Minister about the misconduct. Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha member also accused Modi of inaction, despite promising support to the wrestler who had met with him. Indian wrestlers, including prominent Olympians, have been calling for Singh’s arrest over the allegations. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra added her support, questioning why no action has been taken against the accused.
