Prisco noted that McLaurin has thrived in spite of the team’s inconsistent quarterback play, and that he could achieve even greater things with a more reliable quarterback. McLaurin is a highly productive player and deserves more recognition for his work.
The second Commanders player to make Prisco’s list was safety Kamren Curl, ranked at number 85. Contrary to popular belief, Curl has developed into one of the best young safeties in the league, capable of holding his own as both a run and pass defender. Given his impressive abilities, it is unsurprising that the Commanders are keen to retain him.
While both McLaurin and Curl deserved their place on Prisco’s list, it is somewhat surprising that neither Allen nor Payne were included in the final 100. Allen has frequently been ranked in every top 100 list, with both Allen and Payne receiving honorable mentions from Prisco. With Curl’s emergence, however, it is clear that the Commanders have some serious talent on their roster.
Overall, the Commanders have put together a solid team, but inconsistent quarterback play has hindered their progress. Nevertheless, it is impressive that the team landed two players on Prisco’s top 100 list and that they have some young talent worth keeping an eye on. As Washington looks to build on its successes and field a more consistent roster, we may see even more Commanders players make top 100 lists in the future.
