Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will transfer subsidies worth Rs 60 crore to the bank accounts of 14 lakh beneficiaries in the state. The government initiative falls under the Indira Gandhi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana, which provides affordable gas cylinders to eligible customers.
The state-level function, named Labharthi Utsav (Beneficiary Festival), will take place in all 33 districts of Rajasthan on Monday. Gehlot will transfer the subsidies by pressing a button, and will also have a dialogue with 10 beneficiaries. Videos based on Mehangai Rahat Camps and the Indira Gandhi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme will be shown at the event.
The scheme benefits 76 lakh consumers in the state, where gas cylinders are being provided for just Rs 500. The subsidies are available for BPL families with gas connections and for select families of the Ujjwala Scheme. The benefits of the scheme are being provided through registration in the Mehangai Rahat camps. Almost 48.63 lakh families have registered themselves in these camps so far.
The government is providing relief to the people of Rajasthan from inflation by organizing Mehangai Rahat Camps from April 24. Guarantee cards are being provided on registration in 10 public welfare schemes. Around 1.43 crore families in the state have registered themselves in these camps.
In the district-level programs, ministers, MLAs, officers, and beneficiaries of the scheme will be present and join the state-level function through video conferencing. As and when the remaining eligible consumers register in the Rahat Camps, their benefits will also be transferred.
