CM Nitish Kumar Inspects Construction Works on JP Ganga Path for the Third Time in 67 Days
Patna, Bihar: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted an on-the-spot inspection of the ongoing construction work on the JP Ganga Path, commonly known as Patna Marine Drive, near Gaighat in the state capital. This marks the CM’s third inspection of the project in just 67 days, with previous visits on April 30 and May 15 this year.
During his visit, CM Nitish Kumar urged officials from the road construction department (RCD) to expedite the construction works. He emphasized the need for better connectivity between the JP Ganga Path and the Mahatma Gandhi Setu near Gaighat. This would facilitate easy travel from Patna’s Marine Drive to Hajipur and other parts of north Bihar.
Subsequently, CM Nitish Kumar made his way to the connectivity point of old NH-19 (Ghazipur-Hajipur national highway) near Sonepur, assessing the progress made on the road works there as well. He highlighted the significance of the JP Ganga Path’s connection with the old NH-19 near Bakarpur through the JP Setu. This would conveniently link people traveling to Chhapra, Siwan, Gopalganj, and other towns of north Bihar to Patna’s Marine Drive.
Accompanied by senior officials from the CM secretariat and the RCD, Nitish Kumar reached the Gaighat area via the JP Ganga Path. He urged officials to complete all remaining works on the JP Ganga Path at the earliest.
During the CM’s previous inspection on April 30, Pratyaya Amrit, the additional chief secretary of the RCD, had assured Nitish Kumar that the construction work on the JP Ganga Path up to Gaighat would be complete by June this year. On this visit, Pratyaya informed the CM that the construction works up to Gaighat would be finished soon.
The JP Ganga Path project was initiated on October 11, 2013, to ensure smooth traffic flow between the east and west sides of Patna and alleviate congestion on Ashok Rajpath. This endeavor is expected to relieve the heavy traffic burden on east-west routes in Patna. The first phase of the Ganga Path was opened to the public on June 24 last year under the supervision of Nitish Kumar.
The CM’s dedication to overseeing the construction progress on the JP Ganga Path demonstrates his commitment to infrastructural development and ensuring the timely completion of crucial projects. With his regular inspections, Nitish Kumar aims to improve connectivity and enhance the overall travel experience for the people of Bihar.
In conclusion, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s most recent inspection of the JP Ganga Path reaffirms his proactive approach to infrastructure development in Patna. By monitoring the construction works closely, he aims to ensure timely completion and enhanced connectivity for the benefit of the residents.
