Two groups clashed outside a religious place on Tibba Road here on Monday night, said police on Tuesday. Police had to resort to a lathicharge to control the situation. As per reports, members of the two groups had clashed in the past too and had been harbouring a grudge against each other. On Monday evening, while celebrating Holi, the two sides came face to face and had heated arguments. Police said members on either side clashed with each other, pelting stones and using blunt weapons. Such was the clash that the gate of the place of worship was also damaged, after which locals gathered and called the police. Cops resorted to a lathi charge to disperse the groups. Purported videos of the incident were also doing the rounds on social media.
