A Cumberland man was arrested on Friday and is currently being held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center. Dominic James Berman Briggs, 29, was taken into custody on drug distribution charges, according to the Cumberland Police. The arrest was made in the area of Gulf Memorial Drive. The charges against Briggs include possession of a controlled dangerous substance (excluding marijuana), possession with intent to distribute narcotics, distribution of narcotics, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance (excluding marijuana). The grand jury indictment led to his arrest. The Cumberland Police are taking this matter seriously and working diligently to address drug-related issues in the community.
