Church of Scientology Hosts Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, Calif., Nov. 18, 2023 – The Church of Scientology is once again hosting its annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway in Los Angeles, spreading joy and providing assistance to the community during the holiday season. The event will take place on Sunday, November 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., continuing a tradition that has gained popularity over the past few years.
Those in attendance will have the opportunity to receive a free turkey on a first-come, first-serve basis, until supplies run out. In addition to the turkey giveaway, the Church will also be offering hot chocolate and apple cider to further enhance the festive atmosphere. It’s important to note that the turkey giveaway is an additional event and does not replace the Church’s regular Volunteer Ministers’ weekly food drive, which will occur as usual on Saturday, November 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This food drive aims to provide regular and nutritious groceries to those in need, free of cost.
Aside from the turkey giveaway and food drive, the Church of Scientology has planned a variety of activities for attendees to enjoy throughout the day. A professional photographer will be present to capture free portrait shots, allowing individuals to create lasting memories with their loved ones. Following this, the Holiday Lights family fun day will commence at 3:30 p.m. The event will feature complimentary hot cocoa, cookie decorating, live music, an ice-skating rink for children, and overall family-friendly entertainment.
Excitement mounts as rumors circulate about Santa’s anticipated arrival. Santa Claus is set to assist city officials and nonprofits in illuminating nearly 300,000 holiday lights, transforming the East Hollywood neighborhood. Attendees will have the opportunity to take photos with Santa until the end of the celebration at 8 p.m.
