Child Injured in Flint Shootout; Investigation Underway
FLINT, MI – A young child was rushed to the hospital on Friday evening after being struck by a stray bullet during a shootout in Flint. The incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. on September 29th in the 1000 block of Barrie Avenue, according to the Michigan State Police.
According to authorities, there was an exchange of gunfire in the street which resulted in a stray bullet hitting a nearby home and injuring the child. The age and gender of the child have not been disclosed.
The Flint Major Crimes Unit, comprised of detectives from both the Flint Police Department and the Michigan State Police, is currently investigating the incident.
