Chief of Defence Staff Calls on Nigerians to Join Fight Against Insecurity, Share Credible Information

In a recent address to the nation, General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, emphasized the need for Nigerians to actively participate in combating the country’s escalating insecurity. General Musa urged citizens to share credible information and intelligence with security agencies, highlighting that the fight against insecurity is a collective responsibility.

During a visit to the Operation Hadin Kai Theater Command, General Musa emphasized the importance of collaboration between the military and the public. He asserted that fighting insecurity should not fall solely on the shoulders of the armed forces but should be a joint effort that includes the support and involvement of every Nigerian citizen.

General Musa also issued a stern warning to Boko Haram and other extremist groups operating in the North East, signaling that they must either surrender or face the relentless pursuit of the military. Employing both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches, General Musa expressed the determination to eliminate these threats and restore peace and stability to the affected areas.

Expressing his gratitude for support from various stakeholders including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, General Musa stressed his commitment to ending terrorism, kidnapping, and other forms of criminality in Nigeria. He shared his satisfaction with the successes achieved by the Nigerian military under his leadership, specifically mentioning the positive outcomes in counterterrorism efforts against remnants of Boko Haram.

While visiting the Government House and meeting with Governor Zulum, General Musa acknowledged the governor’s unwavering support for the military. Governor Zulum’s collaborative efforts with the armed forces have resulted in several Boko Haram members surrendering under his operations as Theatre Commander of OPHK.

The Chief of Defence Staff assured the people of the state that every initiative will be undertaken to ensure total peace. He called on the troops to remain dedicated and resolute, stressing that their determination is crucial to achieving lasting peace.

In conclusion, General Christopher Musa’s call for Nigerians to actively engage in the fight against insecurity and share credible information underlines the critical role of collective collaboration in combating the nation’s security challenges. With the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, various stakeholders, and the commitment of security forces, it is hoped that Nigeria will soon witness a significant reduction in terrorism, kidnapping, and other criminal activities.
