Chicago Man Arrested for Armed Robbery at Rush & Division Business
A Chicago man has been apprehended and charged with armed robbery after targeting a business in the bustling Rush & Division neighborhood. Anthony Bowens, 53, who hails from the 500 block of West 63 Street, now faces legal consequences for his alleged actions. Bowens has been accused of one count of felony robbery armed with a firearm, as well as one count of misdemeanor driving on a suspended license. In addition to these charges, he is also confronting multiple traffic citations.
Following his arrest on August 5 near the 200 block of West 63 Street, Bowens found himself incarcerated in Cook County Jail. In order to secure his release, a bond of $150,000 has been set. Bowens is scheduled to appear in court on August 30, with the hearing taking place at the Skokie courthouse.
The incident that led to Bowens’ arrest took place on August 4. Law enforcement identified him as the assailant who entered a retail establishment on the 900 block of North Rush Street, brandishing a firearm and forcibly taking merchandise.
