Chadian Pilgrims Begin Journey to Hajj Season 2023

The first group of 250 Chadian pilgrims left Hassan Jamous N’Djamena Airport on Sunday to embark on their journey to Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj. This was reported by the Saudi Press Agency. The president of the High Council for Islamic Affairs in Chad, Sheikh Dr. Mahamat Issa Khatir, along with Omar Adouma Abdullah, the head of Chad’s Pilgrims Affairs Office, and the Saudi Ambassador to Chad Amer bin Ali Al-Shehri, bid farewell to the pilgrims at the airport.

It is expected that around 9,000 Chadian pilgrims will be making the pilgrimage this year. The Hajj is a religious obligation for every able-bodied Muslim who can afford to undertake it. It is considered to be one of the five pillars of Islam. The Hajj is a major event in the Islamic calendar and represents a significant time for Muslims worldwide.
