The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has issued a new order for its officers, advising them not to seek perks and facilities for holding additional charge assignments. A CVO is appointed by an organization to act as a distant arm of the CVC to check corruption within the organization. The CVC has directed the CVOs not to request perks and facilities for the temporary additional charges given to them due to administrative reasons.

The new directive aims to ensure that the CVOs do not take undue benefit or favors from organizations where they are temporarily appointed for additional charges. Every organization is required to have a separate CVO to monitor the cases of corruption. Similarly, larger organizations appoint full-time CVOs to perform this function efficiently.

The CVC has issued this order so that the officers may not request undue perks or privileges for holding temporary additional charge assignments in other organizations. Such perks may include various facilities like accommodation, transportation, security, and other benefits that come with a higher designation. The CVC believes it is important to maintain neutrality and integrity in such cases to avoid any misdoing or corruption.

The CVOs act as the watchdog of the CVC in the organizations they are assigned to and have the power to investigate cases that involve corrupt practices. This order will help in building a better work culture where officers of the CVC, including CVOs, will be impartial and carry out their duties in an ethical manner without any external influence.

This order has been welcomed by many people, as it sends a positive message to society and will help eliminate the possibility of corrupt practices in the system. However, some people believe that this might also deprive officers of the benefits that come with temporarily holding higher positions, which may lead to demotivation.

Overall, this new directive by the CVC is a positive step and will help ensure that officers are held to a high ethical standard, free of any external influence.
