Webinar: The research is in: Prevent your heart attack now
Addressing the critical issues of cardiac health for police officers
Law enforcement officers’ average life expectancy is 22 years shorter than the general public. The number one killer of officers is cardiovascular disease. Sigma Tactical Wellness has made its mission to better understand why risk of sudden cardiac death is higher in law enforcement officers and what can be done to prevent it.
In a groundbreaking webinar, Dr. Jon Sheinberg, a board-certified cardiologist and sworn police officer, will present the research findings that can help identify heart risks earlier and save lives. The webinar, titled Webinar: The research is in: Prevent your heart attack now, will take place on Friday, February 9 at 2 p.m. ET.
The research conducted by Dr. Sheinberg involved almost 4,000 police officers and has identified a marker that allows for the early identification of individuals at a higher risk for heart disease. By implementing a heart health program, law enforcement agencies can effectively combat cardiovascular disease and improve the life expectancy of their officers.
Gordon Graham, a 33-year veteran of law enforcement and co-founder of Lexipol, will moderate the webinar. As an expert in risk management, Graham will shed light on the impact of this critical new finding and guide participants on how to implement a heart health program within their departments.
Dr. Sheinberg, who also serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Sigma Tactical Wellness, has extensive training and expertise in aggressive coronary disease detection and prevention. Through the use of novel technology, he has pioneered a program that detects and treats coronary disease in its early stages, before blockages become apparent and symptomatic. His research has been peer-reviewed, validated, and scientifically proven to be superior to standard risk analysis or coronary calcium scoring. His findings were published in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
Noel March, the Chief Strategy Officer for Sigma Tactical Wellness, will also be a speaker at the webinar. With his 40 years of experience in law enforcement, March is a nationally recognized expert in Community Oriented Policing. As Chief Strategy Officer, he leads strategic initiatives to identify heart risks among first responders and save lives.
The webinar aims to equip law enforcement professionals with the knowledge and tools necessary to implement effective heart health programs within their departments. By addressing the critical issue of cardiac health for police officers, this webinar has the potential to significantly improve the life expectancy and overall well-being of those who serve and protect our communities.
