Cara Delevingne Responds to Backlash Over Snubbed Interview at F1 Race

Supermodel and actress Cara Delevingne found herself at the center of controversy after allegedly snubbing an interview with Formula 1 legend-turned-broadcaster Martin Brundle at the British Grand Prix over the weekend. A viral video captured the moment when Brundle approached Delevingne for a quick interview, only to be obstructed by a member of her team. However, Brundle persisted and attempted to engage her in conversation. Despite repeatedly saying no, Delevingne eventually turned him down, prompting Brundle to express his disappointment.

I’m sure it would’ve been extremely interesting, Brundle commented as he left the vicinity. The incident garnered attention, prompting Delevingne to address the situation and provide an explanation for her refusal to participate in the interview.

Responding to a fan tweet about the encounter, Delevingne stated, I was told to say no, so I did. Thank you for seeing both sides xxx. She also clarified that it was not a member of her personal team who made the decision but an F1 representative. It wasn’t an agent, it was an F1 representative, she confirmed in response to another fan’s inquiry. Signaling an end to the conversation, Delevingne ended on a positive note, writing, Anyway, I had so much fun today and was so happy to be there, no matter what anyone else may think x.

This incident follows Delevingne’s recent interview with Vogue, in which she candidly discussed her journey to sobriety after coming across distressing photos. From September, I just needed support. I needed to start reaching out. And my old friends, I’ve known since I was 13, they all came over and we started crying, she shared. They looked at me and said, ‘You deserve a chance to have joy.’

Delevingne also opened up about her breakup with actress and model Ashley Benson. Reflecting on the split that occurred in April 2020, she described feeling a profound sense of loneliness. I was alone, really alone, she admitted. I just had a complete existential crisis. All my sense of belonging, all my validation – my identity, everything – was so wrapped up in work. And when that was gone, I felt like I had no purpose. I just wasn’t worth anything without work, and that was scary. Delevingne then acknowledged her response to the situation, saying, Instead of taking the time to really learn something new or do something new, I got very wrapped up in misery, wallowing, and partying. It was a really sad time.

While the incident at the British Grand Prix may have left some disappointed, it’s important to consider both perspectives. Delevingne’s decision not to grant the interview may have been influenced by various factors, and her subsequent tweets suggest that she had a positive experience overall. As the Only Murders in the Building star continues to navigate her personal and professional life, it’s clear that she’s prioritizing her well-being and seeking joy on her own terms.
