BYU Football Adds Former Utah OL Simi Moala
BYU football has once again made a splash in the Transfer Portal by adding former Utah offensive lineman Simi Moala to its roster. Moala’s decision to join the BYU program was driven by his desire to prioritize his family’s needs.
Moala, who spent four seasons with the Utah football program from 2018 to 2021, initially transferred to Jackson State to play under the guidance of Deion Sanders. However, he ultimately decided to take a year off to be with his family. Now, with one season of eligibility remaining as a collegiate transfer, Moala has found a new home at BYU.
Standing at an impressive 6-foot-7 and weighing 307 pounds, Moala brings size and experience to the offensive line. He started 18 games during his time at Utah, but in the 2021 season, the starting role was taken over by Braeden Daniels.
Moala’s addition to the BYU program marks their sixth offensive line commit in the 2023 transfer portal cycle. It also brings the total number of portal additions to 22 since the conclusion of last season for BYU.
BYU’s 2023 season will kick off on September 2 in Provo against Sam Houston. Fans can catch the action on FS1 and KSL NewsRadio.
