Indian businessman and former billionaire Shivinder Mohan Singh has been granted bail by Delhi’s Saket Court in the alleged Religare Finvest scam case. The court granted Singh bail on a personal bond of Rs 10 Lakhs ($13,400) along with two sureties of the same amount. Singh was arrested by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police in October 2019 along with his brother Malvinder Mohan Singh, both of whom were accused of misappropriating funds, cheating, criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust, and diverting funds amounting to Rs 2,397 crores ($322 million). The two brothers were allegedly involved in flouting corporate governance norms to facilitate the diversion of funds to entities linked with them. They were granted bail earlier this year, but it was later cancelled citing the need to uncover a larger conspiracy.
