Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) has achieved remarkable success in the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2023 discipline rankings. The prestigious ranking, which assessed 5,000 institutions out of 25,000 universities worldwide, has placed BME among the top institutions in three different disciplines.
BME’s Mechanical Engineering program has earned a spot in the 301-400 range, while its Electrical & Electronic Engineering program secured a position in the 401-500 range. Furthermore, the Mathematics program at BME has been recognized as one of the top 201-300 training programs globally. The GRAS rankings are compiled by analyzing universities across 104 countries and evaluating them in five categories – natural sciences, technical sciences, life sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences. In addition to its success in the GRAS rankings, BME has also demonstrated strong performance in other prestigious rankings. Recently, the university ranked 224th worldwide in the Engineering and Technology category in the QS ranking of fields of expertise. BME also excelled in the QS Sustainability 2023 rankings, securing a high position as the 23rd most sustainable institution out of 700 ranked institutions, and as the best Hungarian institution in Environmental Impact.
