BSP chief Mayawati has criticized the Congress government of Rajasthan for offering freebies just before the upcoming assembly elections in the state. The freebies include subsidized cooking gas priced at Rs 500 and free electricity up to 100 units. Mayawati commented on Twitter that the announcement was clearly an election trick and that the Congress should have acted long ago in view of the rising inflation. Mayawati also mentioned similar government strategies in Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh, the BJP government-led Madhya Pradesh, and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi party government of Telangana. She criticized all of them for not doing enough public welfare work and for resorting to deceptive advertisements to save their government from losing in upcoming elections. Mayawati expressed displeasure regarding the six BSP MLAs who merged with Congress while her party extended unconditional support to the Congress government in Rajasthan.
