Indian security forces have intercepted a Pakistani drone attempting to smuggle narcotics into the country. The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered the drone along the International Border near Rai village in Amritsar sector of Punjab. The BSF team was joined by the police in the search operation in which one large packet, suspected to be contraband, wrapped in yellow-colored adhesive tape was recovered from a farming field on the outskirts of Rear Kakkar village in Amritsar. A green-colored nylon rope and a hook attached to the packet were also found. When opened, five packets of heroin weighing 5.26 kilograms were found.
Earlier this week, the BSF had recovered another Pakistani drone along the International Border in the same sector. The incident underscores the urgency to strengthen the country’s security measures in order to prevent nefarious activities in border areas.
