Telangana’s ruling Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and state minister K T Rama Rao has criticized Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President J P Nadda for alleging that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was corrupt. Rama Rao, who is the son of the Chief Minister, also criticized Congress leader Sonia Gandhi for the delay in granting statehood to Telangana when the UPA was in power. He blamed many suicides on this delay, which had led to the creation of the state.
Rama Rao was reacting to Nadda’s comments, which he deemed useless. He said that the BJP president had not said anything useful during his visit. The criticism was part of Nadda’s visit to Telangana, where he criticised the ruling party of corruption.
The BRS leader slammed the BJP chief for pushing his party’s divisive politics, which he said was destroying India and its diversity. He said that the BJP’s only agenda was to spread hate and violence and that he would resist their harmful policies. Rama Rao emphasized the need for unity and respect for all communities in India.
The BJP president had accused the Chief Minister of Telangana of corruption and inefficiency. He had also criticised the ruling party for its alleged involvement in illicit activities. Nadda had been in Telangana to inaugurate the party’s new office in the state.
Rama Rao’s criticisms come amid rising political tensions in Telangana and other Indian states ahead of next year’s general elections. The BJP has been trying to gain ground in the southern state, while the ruling BRS has been adamant in its opposition to the BJP’s policies.
The war of words between the two parties is likely to continue, with both sides seeking to gain the upper hand ahead of the elections. However, it remains to be seen if the exchange of barbs will have any substantial impact on voters’ opinions or the outcome of the elections.
