Indian renewable energy company, CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions, has raised $360m in funding from Brookfield Renewable via the Brookfield Global Transition Fund. The investment mix of primary and secondary capital will support CleanMax’s growth to over 5 GW in the next three to four years and allow Brookfield Renewable to become the majority stakeholder. CleanMax reduces carbon emissions by providing wind and solar energy to over 350 corporate customers in India and managing 1.6 GW of operating wind and solar projects. This deal makes Brookfield the majority stakeholder or controlling partner in a number of operating renewable energy assets in India.
