Broncos Safety Justin Simmons Inactive Again, Bears Game Undeterred

Denver Broncos safety Justin Simmons was unable to participate in Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. This marked his second consecutive absence due to a hip injury. The injury occurred on September 17 during the game against Washington, forcing him to miss last Sunday’s match against Miami as well. Although Simmons was able to return to limited practice sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, he was ultimately unable to take part in Friday’s workout. As a result, he was listed as questionable for the Bears game and ultimately deemed inactive.

In addition to Simmons, the Broncos also had several other players who were unable to participate in the game. Linebacker Josey Jewell was sidelined with a groin injury, while outside linebacker Frank Clark and defensive tackle Mike Purcell were both ruled out on Friday. Safety JL Skinner, defensive lineman Ronnie Perkins, and center Alex Forsyth were also among the inactive players for Denver.

On the Chicago Bears’ side, defensive backs Eddie Jackson and Jaylon Johnson, wide receiver Chase Claypool, running back D’onte Foreman, and quarterback Nathan Peterman were listed as inactive for the game against the Broncos.

The absence of key players on both teams could potentially impact the outcome of the match. Simmons, in particular, is a vital component of the Broncos’ defense, and his absence may pose a challenge for the team. However, the Bears will also have to navigate the game without some of their key defensive assets.

As the game unfolds, both teams will have to rely on their depth and the performance of the players who are available for action. The absence of star players presents an opportunity for other squad members to step up and make an impact on the field.
