A teenager from Britain who went missing six years ago has been found in southern France and is expected to return to his family in northern England in the next few days, according to British police. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are working with French authorities to bring Alex Batty back to the UK. Batty disappeared at the age of 11 during a trip to Malaga, Spain, with his mother and grandfather in 2017. The whereabouts of his mother are still unknown. GMP Assistant Chief Constable Chris Sykes stated that efforts are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding Batty’s disappearance and his whereabouts during the past six years. Batty had the opportunity to speak with his grandmother via video call on Thursday evening. The focus now is to provide him with the necessary care and facilitate his reunion with his family as soon as possible.
