The Jan Chetna Rally, which was scheduled to be held in Ayodhya on June 5, has been postponed. The rally was supposed to be organised by Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, a BJP MP who has been accused of sexual harassment by female wrestlers. Singh posted on social media that the rally had been postponed while the police investigate the charges against him. The rally, which would have been a show of strength for Singh amid growing calls for his sacking, was not granted permission due to Section 144 already being in place in Ayodhya. Singh denies the allegations, claiming that he is being falsely accused by political opponents.
