Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, former president of Wrestling Federation of India and a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP, has postponed his ‘Jan Chetna Maharally, Ayodhya Chalo’ due to police inquiries into allegations made against him by wrestlers, and court directives. In a letter posted on social media, Bhushan stated that he has been a member of the Lok Sabha for the past 28 years and aims to unite people of all castes, communities, and religions. Bhushan believes his political opponents and their parties are falsely accusing him due to his attempts at social cohesion. In light of allegations and concerns over disturbances to social harmony, Bhushan has postponed his programme to organize a Sant Sammelan in Ayodhya on June 5, with the intention of holding the event in the coming days. Bhushan thanked his supporters for their polite action and declared his gratitude towards them and promised that he and his family would always remain in their debt.
