Contrary to the rumors circulating online, Dr. Tello asserts that the radiation exposure from a mammogram is relatively low. She explains, It’s about the same as three chest x-rays. That’s the same as just getting two months of background radiation from just living on Earth. We get a lot of radiation, you know, from space. So, it’s a very low dose. Our machines get better every year. So, the dose continues to decrease, and it’s really not harmful. She emphasizes that advancements in technology have resulted in improved mammogram machines with lower doses of radiation, debunking the misinformation.

Then, they did an ultrasound and it’s all history now. And I’ve been a cancer survivor since 2011. From the day you’re diagnosed and I had the radiation and that in February and been good ever since.
