The Rio de Janeiro authorities revealed on Wednesday that they are investigating Time4Fun, the organizers of the Eras Tour concerts in Brazil. Criticism was directed at Time4Fun following Benevides’ death, as some concert attendees claimed they were prohibited from bringing water bottles into the crowded stadium despite the intense heat, which reached 43.8 degrees Celsius.
Speaking to Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo, Weiny Machado, Ana Benevides’ father, expressed profound grief, saying, I lost my only daughter, a happy and intelligent girl. She was about to graduate in psychology next April, saving money.
He added, I have no words to express my pain. She left home to fulfill a dream and came back dead. I want to find out whether they were indeed prohibited from bringing water or if there was negligence in providing assistance.
In response to the criticism, Time4Fun announced a policy adjustment for subsequent concerts via Instagram. They stated, Entry into the stadium with sealed water bottles and sealed packaged food will also be permitted, with no restrictions on the number of items per person.
