Billionaire Mukesh Ambani and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan are among the elite list of invitees to the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya next week. The select guest list features prominent politicians, leading industrialists, top film stars, sportspersons, bureaucrats, and diplomats. While around 8,000 people are invited to the ceremony, only a few hundred have made it to the exclusive list.
A highlight of the list is Amitabh Bachchan, who will be flying into Ayodhya in a private chartered plane for the opening of the magnificent 161-feet tall pink sandstone shrine. Joining him from the film industry are notable actors Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Allu Arjun, Mohanlal, Anupam Kher, Chiranjeevi, sarod maestro Amjad Ali, lyricist and poet Manoj Muntashir, lyricist and writer Prasoon Joshi, as well as directors Sanjay Bhansali and Chandraprakash Dwivedi.
The Ambani family, including Mukesh Ambani, his mother Kokilaben, wife Neeta, sons Akash and Anant, daughter-in-law Shloka, and would-be-daughter-in-law Radhika Merchant, have also made it to the exclusive guest list. Other notable industrialists invited to the ceremony are Aditya Birla Group chairperson Kumar Mangalam Birla and his wife Nirja, Piramal Group chairperson Ajay Piramal, Mahindra and Mahindra’s Anand Mahindra, DCM Shriram’s Ajay Shriram, and TCS CEO K Krithivasan.
The guest list goes beyond the realms of business and entertainment. Former Lok Sabha speaker Meera Kumar, former Planning Commission deputy chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia, India’s G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant, former diplomats Amar Sinha, notable attorneys K K Venugopal and Mukul Rohtagi, and Indian women cricket captain Mitali Raj are among the distinguished invitees.
While some of the invitees will be flying in private jets on January 22, others will be taking regular flights and arrive a day earlier. They will either be staying overnight in Ayodhya or nearby cities like Lucknow.
