A Boise man who was arrested in September as part of a sex-sting operation is now facing additional charges in a separate case. Alexander Louie, 34, has been accused of transferring body fluids containing the HIV virus, among other crimes.

The initial arrest stemmed from Louie’s alleged attempt to set up a meeting with what he believed to be a teenage boy he had connected with online. In reality, the person on the other end of the conversation was an undercover detective. Louie is said to have sent explicit messages, nude photographs, and expressed his intention to record their encounter. However, when he arrived at the agreed meeting place near a local high school, he was promptly apprehended by sheriff’s deputies.

Louie now faces three felony charges of sexual battery and three felony charges of transferring body fluids containing HIV. Detectives discovered another victim, a 16-year-old boy, whom Louie had allegedly met through the internet and sexually assaulted on three separate occasions in September. Notably, Louie failed to disclose that he was HIV positive, which is against the law in Idaho. Detectives also found evidence suggesting that Louie had intentionally stopped taking his HIV medication prior to one of the encounters.

Authorities are concerned that there may be more victims involved, and they have urged anyone with information to come forward. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office has set up a dedicated hotline and email address for individuals to report any relevant details.

It is essential to remember that the allegations against Alexander Louie have not yet been proven in a court of law, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The authorities are continuing their investigation to gather more evidence and determine the scope of the case.

Cases like these highlight the importance of online safety, especially when it comes to protecting vulnerable individuals such as minors. Law enforcement agencies are working diligently to combat online exploitation and encourage parents and guardians to educate their children about internet safety.

As the investigation unfolds, additional details may emerge, shedding light on the extent of Louie’s alleged actions. The legal process will ultimately determine his guilt or innocence, and the authorities will strive to ensure a fair and thorough examination of the charges against him.
