Body Found in Candler Woods: Authorities Launch Criminal Investigation
Law enforcement officials are currently investigating a grim discovery after a body was found near McKinney Road in Candler on August 10. Deputies from the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the wooded area just west of Asheville following a report received around noon, as stated in a news release from the sheriff’s office.
The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office is actively conducting a criminal investigation into the matter, with a team of detectives, crime scene investigators, patrol officers, and K9 handlers assigned to the case. Although the authorities believe that this incident is an isolated one, they have yet to identify any suspects or the deceased individual. When questioned about the duration of the person’s death, the sheriff’s office spokesperson refrained from providing immediate comment.
