BluSmart, the Indian EV ride service and EV charging superhub infrastructure operator, has reached a significant milestone by completing 10 million emission-free rides in India. In less than five years since its inception, BluSmart has made great strides in promoting clean transportation.
Since its launch in 2019, BluSmart has covered over 300 million kilometers, effectively preventing more than 23,000 tonnes of CO2 gas emissions. Operating a fleet of over 5,000 electric vehicles (EVs) in Delhi NCR and Bengaluru, the company has become a prominent player in the Indian EV market.
One of the unique features of BluSmart’s app is the CO2 Tracker, which allows riders to track the environmental impact of their journeys. After each ride, users receive notifications detailing the amount of CO2 emissions saved, enhancing their understanding of the positive ecological contribution made by choosing an emission-free mode of transportation.
In addition to its ride service, BluSmart has invested in building 34 EV charging superhubs strategically located across Delhi NCR and Bengaluru. These superhubs enable the seamless operation of the company’s EV fleet by providing over 4,000 charging points. This infrastructure supports the widespread usage of electric vehicles and contributes to the overall shift towards sustainable transportation in India.
Anmol Singh Jaggi, Co-Founder and CEO of BluSmart, expressed his delight at reaching this significant milestone. He highlighted the company’s commitment to expanding its presence within the cities it operates and praised the efficiency of its operational model.
Earlier this year, BluSmart secured approximately $42 million (Approx Rs 350 crores) in funding, which will be utilized to accelerate the expansion of the company’s EV fleet. BluSmart aims to increase its fleet capacity to 10,000 EVs by the end of this year, further consolidating its position in the Indian market.
