Krishnaraja MLA T.S. Srivatsa recently inaugurated a Blood Donation Camp at Suyog Hospital in Mysore, commemorating ‘World Blood Donation Day.’ During his speech, he expressed his elation about the increasing awareness of blood donation among people.
Suyog Hospital is a renowned medical institution in the city, providing affordable medical services to its people. Additionally, the establishment organizes various awareness programs about blood donation, environment, and social health activities that are different from similar institutions.
Dr. S. P. Yoganna, Chairman of Suyog Hospital, highlighted the significance of blood donations, informing attendees that blood has many components, including Red Blood Corpuscles (RBC), White Blood Corpuscles (WBC), Platelets, Blood Clotting, and Immunity Enhancing Substances. All these components can be separated and given to a person in need. Before donating, each sample undergoes testing for illnesses such as HIV, Hepatitis, Syphilis, Malaria, and other diseases.
Dr. Yoganna encouraged people to donate blood as a noble act to save lives, stating that blood gets naturally destroyed in the human body every three months and that donating a unit (1 pint) of blood could save three lives. Blood donors are always needed to help save lives, as blood can not be artificially manufactured.
More than 70 individuals donated blood during the camp, including Managing Director Dr. Suyog Yoganna, Medical Director Dr. Rajendraprasad, and other hospital directors.
The article aims to raise awareness about the importance of blood donations, particularly in helping to save lives. By doing this valuable act of donation, individuals have an opportunity to have a positive impact on society while also gaining a meaningful and rewarding experience.
