Blake Lively recently spent some quality time with her 76-year-old mother Elaine and took to Instagram to share a photo of their fun-filled day. While the A-list actress was excited about trying on Tiffany jewelry with her mom, it was Elaine’s youthful appearance that caught the attention of Blake’s fans.
In the Instagram post, Blake, who is married to actor Ryan Reynolds, humorously wrote, I would like to replace the term ‘hoarder’ in favor of ‘maximalist.’ It makes me feel better. Wonder where I get it from? She went on to explain the lighthearted moment when she asked Elaine to join her in trying on necklaces.
Blake recounted the conversation, saying, ‘Mom, come take a pic for Tiffany with me. Which necklace do you want to wear?’ Mom replied, ‘All of them.’ When I insisted she pick her favorite, she retorted, ‘ALL of them. Turn on the makeup light.’ Blake concluded the post by stating, The woman wins. Every time.
Notably, several of Blake’s 43.5 million Instagram followers were quick to comment on the striking resemblance between the actress and her mother, with one follower asking, Umm is that your sister? Another fan named Sarah Dobrei simply stated, You look like sisters.
The comments kept pouring in, with one user named Sarah Quick exclaiming, Omg you look like your mom. Others also pointed out the similarities, including remarks such as, Now we know where you get that great hair from! and The resemblance is uncanny.
Elaine Lively, herself an actress, has a background in the entertainment industry, having worked as both an agent and an actress. Her husband, Ernie Lively, who sadly passed away in 2021, was a director. Elaine and Ernie were married in 1979 and shared five children, including Blake.
In a previous interview with Radio Free Entertainment in 2006, Blake revealed that she grew up on film sets due to her mother’s involvement in the industry. She shared, My mom is a manager and always has kids come in for coaching, my family’s always going over lines for an audition, I’m always stealing craft service. However, despite her exposure to the industry, Blake initially had no desire to pursue acting herself, joking that it seemed like such a nightmare.
